Costume

Costume
Costume is a main thing to take into account when creating my music video. Costume can be important because in a certain genre your costume needs to appeal to the audience and also link to the song.
A good example of this is LMFAO and the all of the costumes in which they have in all of their different music videos. In each music
video their unique costumes stand out and therefore their costumes link to their group. That is why when you see the robot head you instantly know that it is  LMFAO. This became a symbol to their group.

When it comes to looking at the genre in which i have chosen, i have to look into a range of different styles of clothing to create the costumes. So by looking into more Eminem videos and other artists such as James Bay and Chris Brown, there are a lot of different styles which i can choose from when creating my music video. I have also had to analyse the colours in which all of the videos share, for example Eminem and James Bay's music videos both contain a lot of black and grey. They also wear clothing which links to the lyrics within the song and which always links to the lighting. If you look at a James Bay song he wears a lot of black and this is so he blends in with the low key lighting in which he uses which causes an outstanding affect because it makes the artist stand out even though the point is for him to blend in.

This image to the right shows how Eminem did not wear a costume and was just himself in a music video, but instead he made quite a few people get into costume to look like him. This is quite significant because they are all relevant to the song. Whereas in other music videos artists would wear clothes which represent a certain brand and promote it in which the public then see and then go for that type of style.
